Congregational Register No: 70
D.O.B.: 21.09.1896
First Profession: 08.09.1944

Baptized Bridget Agnes, Sr. Regina was already 46 years of age and a well-qualified nurse when she entered at Rosemount on 6 January 1942. In MMM she was known affectionately as ‘Queenie’.

A native of Charlestown, Co. Mayo, she had trained in England, which in her mind was the epitome of nurse training. To this day, her phrase ‘trained in England’ can be heard quoted, as are tales of her dedication in perhaps, while on night duty, waking a patient  to ensure he/she was sleeping!

She worked in Anua and Afikpo in Nigeria and then later in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda.

Sr. Regina died in Drogheda on 21 July 1962, the same day MMM held its first ever elections for superior general and council. She is buried in Drogheda.
