Alice Christina, from Dundalk, Co. Louth, was a twin. She entered MMM on 22 August 1944.
She was missioned to Nigeria in 1952 but spent only two years there before returning to Drogheda in 1954 after a car accident.
During her years in Ireland, she worked in the hospital kitchenettes, libraries and on the switchboard. She also looked after the oratory, flowers, etc. Later she worked in Bettystown, a place to which she was attached and to which she devoted much energy. Her hospitality was renowned and she was a very versatile person.
Sr. Alphonsus was pleasant and welcoming, always keeping in contact with family and friends, which was not so easy to do in those days.
She died and is buried in Drogheda.
