Anne (Nance) Moran was born and raised in Terenure, Dublin.  She was the sixth child in a family of five brothers and three sisters.  Anne was only five years old when her mother died shortly after her younger sister, Berna, was born.  Their father died only two years after their mother, and the family was raised by the eldest girl, Molly, who became mother to all, never marrying.  Anne was educated at the Presentation College, Terenure, and Loreto Abbey, Rathfarnham, later going on to Skerry’s Commercial College, where she learned her secretarial skills.  Anne entered MMM in December 1945, taking the name Sr. Mary Reparatrice.

Sr. Reparatrice made first profession in 1948 and spent the next two years in promotion work, showing the film Visitation all over England and Scotland.  She returned to Drogheda in 1950 to work closely with Mother Mary for the first of several periods.  Sr. Reparatrice was missioned to Nigeria in 1951, first to Use Abat and then to Anua as secretary/bursar and later as superior.  She returned to Drogheda in 1956 to work with Mother Mary for eighteen months before returning to Anua for the last time late in 1957.  She was the superior there until she returned to Ireland late in 1959.  She remained in Drogheda for many years, working closely with Mother Mary, for whom she had the deepest respect, love and admiration.  As Mother Mary’s health deteriorated, Anne became her right hand, accepting an ever heavier work load and more responsibility, effectively becoming Mother General for a number of years. In 1969 Sr. Stella Phelan was elected as Mother General and Anne was later elected as European superior.  She spent 1975 to 1977 in the USA and Canada doing a renewal course and community development and pastoral education courses in preparation for going to Brazil.

Sr. Anne was in São Paulo, Brazil, from 1977 until 1988.  She loved the people there and maintained close contact with many of the friends she made.  She returned to Ireland in 1989 and worked in the secretariat at Rosemount until 2002. She became increasingly frail and had two falls, necessitating her move to Drogheda in 2003. There her health improved for a while and she settled into the community, making herself as useful to others as she could, which was her nature.

Anne was the most conscientious and industrious of souls. Nothing was too much trouble for her and she loved to be of service to others.

In early 2004 Anne had a stroke that left her partially paralysed and without speech. She was moved to Áras Mhuire and died there on 28 May 2004. One can be sure that she was met at the gates of heaven with the words: ‘Well done, good and faithful servant.’
