Agnes Johnston was a convert to Catholicism when she entered in Rosemount on 15 August 1940.

Her work experience was mainly clerical and in this she gave great service to the hospital in Drogheda, as secretary to Mother Mary, and also in Nigeria, mainly in Anua and Ogoja.

After returning to Ireland from Nigeria in 1949, she was in charge of the communications office and later the accounts department in the maternity hospital. She moved from there to the philatelic department, then situated in Bettystown.

In memories of her, time was important to her and quotes of hers may sometimes still be heard: “doing half an hour’s reading in 20 minutes” and “getting in the mid-day examination of conscience” if the priest was late beginning morning Mass!

Sr. Mary Anna died in Drogheda in 1976 and is buried there in the MMM plot.
