Mary Hunt from near Ballyhaunis, Co. Mayo, entered MMM on 1 March 1950, having a few years previously worked with the Mayo County Council.

Her secretarial experience placed her in many roles in MMM: as secretary in the x-ray department in Drogheda, in the promotion work department and then as hospital secretary in Makiungu, and later in Dareda, Tanzania.

She was also, for some months, secretary to Cardinal Conway, Archbishop of Armagh and to the pro-nuncio of Nigeria and Ghana.

Back in Drogheda for a year, she was responsible for the stamp department. After some time off for health reasons, she began a ministry in pastoral care, which she seemed to love. After a period of further training, she worked for two years in Drogheda and for six years in Kenya in parish ministry before finally working for several years in Blanchardstown Hospital in Dublin.

She had a very innovative mind and was never short of ideas and suggestions as to how things could be improved.

Sr. Olivia died in Dublin and is buried in Drogheda.
