Rose, known for a short time as Sr. M. Stanislaus, came from Castletown, Co. Meath and entered in Drogheda on 3 October 1950.

She had already trained as an mental health nurse before entering, so her general nurse training at Jervis Street Hospital, Dublin, was shortened, and she commenced midwifery training in Drogheda in 1955.

She was assigned to Nigeria in 1956 and worked in Anua until 1959 when she transferred to Ikom. Back in Ireland she spent time on promotion work and in the nursing care of Archbishop Riberi at the Apostolic nunciature.

She returned to Nigeria in 1961 to Obudu and was later appointed matron of the new hospital at Eleta. In 1971 she was appointed regional superior of Nigeria but resigned in 1973 because of ill health. Between 1973 and 1975 Rose was able to spend only short periods in Nigeria because of ill health. She died in Drogheda on 1 April 1975 and is buried there.

Rose was known for her efficiency and competence, and her great interest in all.
