Mary Connolly, from near Bantry, Co. Cork, entered MMM on 15 August 1941. She had been employed as a cheese maker in the creamery in Milford, Co. Cork, when she came in contact with MMM. Following profession, she qualified in domestic science in Sion Hill, Blackrock, Co. Dublin.

In 1948, she was assigned to Nigeria, where she ministered in Anua and Use Abat. After she returned to Ireland, she was in charge in Rosemount until 1952 before going to Naples. It was said of her in Naples that “she was a treasure and all things to all” and a “tonic” with her sense of humour. She appeared to be a very saintly person.

On returning to Ireland, she worked in Drogheda in the sewing room and stores and in Bettystown. Sr. M. Anthony is remembered as being a very warm-hearted, caring and very capable person.

She died on 10 April 1968, and is buried in Drogheda.
