From Ballaghadereen, Co. Roscommon, Agnese, baptised Mary Alisia, entered MMM in Clonmel on 3 April 1959.  After general nurse training in Drogheda and paediatric nurse training at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast, she staffed in the IMTH for one year.

She was assigned to the Clinica Mediterranea in Naples where she spent nine years. She was noted for her sensitivity and her dedication to the patients. She was a great lover of nature. She returned to Ireland and studied for a diploma in religious studies in Maynooth before doing her midwifery training in Glasgow.

She was assigned to Nigeria in 1979, working in Abakaliki and Ndubia, but returned to Drogheda seriously ill in April 1983. She died in June 1983 and is buried in Drogheda.

Sr. Agnese was a very gracious and gentle person, very uncomplaining. This was especially noticeable during her last illness when she suffered constant, severe pain.
