Brigid, known in MMM for many years as Sr. M. Phelim, was from Laragh in Co. Cavan. She entered in Drogheda on 3 October 1951. Her ministry overseas was in Nigeria from 1958 to 1966, in Anua and Ibadan. She then returned to Drogheda.

In her time, she was home sister in the nurses’ home and then accountant in the Motherhouse.

She was a very kind person, with a great concern for others. She found time to develop her artistic gifts by attending classes in the local technical college, producing some lovely artwork. Some of her paintings are hanging in the hospital. She was also an active member of the Old Drogheda Historical Society, the Louth Archeological Society and the Drogheda Gardening Club. She especially enjoyed the gardening outings and had been on an outing with the Gardening Club shortly before she became ill.

Her death In Drogheda was very sudden and unexpected and a shock to all.

She is buried in Drogheda.
