From Drogheda itself, Sr. Presentina (baptised Mary Therese) entered MMM on 3 April 1959.
One could call her “an arts and crafts person”, as her gifts were much appreciated in the Drogheda and Naples sewing rooms and her culinary expertise was put to the test in Bettystown and in the London Apostolic Delegation.
Between 1966 and 1974 she was assigned to the Clinica Meditteranea in Naples, Italy. After some time in London, she ministered for three years in Turkana, Kenya, in mandeleo work and community development.
In 1981 she did eight months’ relief work in Nigeria. She returned to Ireland to work in the Apostolic nunciature in Dublin, at our MMM house in Clonsilla, in the Beechgrove guest department, and then as public relations officer in the IMTH.
Due to illness, her last years, especially when in Áras Mhuire, were difficult, but when her call finally came, her death was very peaceful and calm. Several people remarked at how beautiful and serene she looked.
She died and is buried in Drogheda.
